Jellia's Friends

Jellia's Friends image
You can now play the first game created by Batty Media Jellia's Friends. Admittedly, it's no Robot Unicorn Attack, but while it was designed with entertainment and replay value in mind, it was also a game with a message. It was created for the 2010 Life.Love.Game Design Challenge. The goal was to develop a game that was both enjoyable to play and could succesfully convey awareness about teen dating violence. Jellia's Friends took the Runner-Up Prize, and you can now play the game freely by clicking on the link above, or going directly to the contest sponsor's site,

While you're at it, take some time to check out the winners of previous year's contests. And remember to visit the game design sponsor, Teen dating violence is a major problem in the U.S. and abroad. Given than an estimated 97% of teens in the U.S. ages 12-17 play some form of video games, it seems a worthwhile challenge to try and create games that are both engaging and can help teenagers learn to recognize the warning signs of abuse and dating violence.
